But this year, there could be a few bigger surprises in store.As is typical with Apple, the company is all tight-lipped about what it has planned. But the rumours have already given us a fair idea of what could be coming, with the iPhone 18 Pro series, the first-ever foldable iPhone and a new generation of Apple Watches all expected to feature at the event.The September 9 event will also mark a new chapter for Apple. John Ternus will host his first major iPhone launch as CEO, having officially taken over the role earlier this month, while Tim Cook is now Apple’s executive chairman.So, what exactly is Apple expected to unveil? Here is everything to look forward to at the September 9 event. iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro MaxThe iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are the safest bets for the event. On the looks side, Apple is reportedly keeping the overall design familiar this year, with most of the changes happening under the hood and around the cameras and display.The Pro models are expected to feature Apple's new A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island and the company's C2 modem. There could also be a simplified Camera Control button and new colour options, including a Dark Cherry shade. The iPhone 18 Pro Max could get a few extra upgrades of its own. Reports suggest it may be slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery, while a variable-aperture main camera could also be exclusive to the Pro Max. The camera would allow the aperture to adjust depending on lighting conditions, potentially giving users more control over light and depth of field.Apple's first foldable iPhoneWhile the iPhone 18 Pro lineup will be the star of the show, Apple fans and tech enthusiasts are probably more curious about what else the company has up its sleeve. Because we are hearing whispers of an all new iPhone with a foldable display. Yes, Apple's long-rumoured foldable iPhone is said to finally make its official launch on September 9. The device is reportedly designed in a book-style format, with a roughly 5.5-inch outer OLED display that opens up into a much larger 7.8-inch screen. When unfolded, the phone could be as thin as 4.5mm, making it one of Apple's thinnest devices.Apple is also reportedly making some compromises to achieve that thin design.
