Ancient Roman Pula transformed by contemporary light art

Ancient Roman Pula on Croatia’s Adriatic coast is being transformed by contemporary light art as the Visualia Light Festival brings installations to 16 locations across the historic city. ADVERTISEMENT ADVERTISEMENT More than 2,000-year-old Roman architecture becomes the backdrop for projections, interactive installations and contemporary artworks exploring themes including peace, nature, human relationships and technology. Artists from across Europe and beyond are taking part, while the city’s Roman amphitheatre and historic centre provide a contrast between ancient architecture and some of the newest developments in light art. All in all, the artists come from Croatia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Ukraine, Hong Kong/China, plus international participants connected to Thailand, the Netherlands and the US.
