Airing just hours after the death of Dolly Parton at the age of 80, the Tuesday live quarterfinal episode of NBC’s America’s Got Talent honored the music icon. “Before we move on, we want to take a moment to remember the Queen of Country, Dolly Parton, who passed away today,” host Terry Crews said during a transition early in the show. “She was the ultimate talent, and a total original who inspired so many of us – including me. She will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Dolly!” AGT closed out the night with a special card as a tribute to Parton. (You can see it above.) The network will commemorate the 11-time Grammy winner’s life and career with Dolly: An NBC News Special, which will air Wednesday at 9 PM. ABC and CBS are airing specials Tuesday night. She narrated and executive produced the hit 2015 TV movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors and its 2016 sequel Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors: Circle of Love. And in 2022, she co-hosted with goddaughter Miley Cyrus the network’s live New Year’s Eve special.
