Amazon confirms Last One Laughing season 3 cast – with star returning and judge twist

Jimmy Carr has a new deputy at his side for season three on Amazon Prime Video (Picture: Amazon) Last One Laughing returned this year for a triumphant second season and judging by the line-up for the third, more hilarity awaits. The Amazon Prime Video show will feature another batch of comedians trying to make each other laugh, all while keeping a straight face. Jimmy Carr has once again roped in 10 of Britain’s leading comedians to pass a day together at an unspecified location, where the decor seems to have taken inspiration from a CBeebies show. What’s more, the announcement for the upcoming season has promised yet more comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to lure laughs from the players. It isn’t just the format that’s getting a twist, because for the first time, Roisin Conaty is truly being given something to do and will ditch her role as Carr’s sidekick to enter the game. Mel Giedroyc will return from season two to take on deputy duties in the control room. David Mitchell lifted the trophy last season after a face-off with Sam Campbell (Picture: Amazon MGM Studios) Who’s in the cast? But who else will be taking part in Last One Laughing season three, in the hopes of nabbing David Mitchell’s crowd? Scroll on. Jimmy Carr has once again roped in 10 of Britain’s leading comedians (Picture: Ray Burmiston/Amazon Prime Video) Lee Mack Can he follow in his pal David Mitchell’s footsteps? (Picture: BBC/Zeppotron Ltd/Brian Ritchie) Lee Mack is a dab hand at making people laugh on Would I Lie to You? so there’s no doubt that he will be a contender in the house. As long as he can stifle his own chuckles. He’s also got his own long-running BBC sitcom Not Going Out; perhaps the acting will come in handy when trying to keep a poker face. Katherine Ryan The Canadian brings her caustic wit to LOL (Picture: Jack Taylor/Getty Images for SXSW London) Katherine Ryan is a powerhouse comedian, with a list of accomplishments longer than this space allows. On her podcast, aptly titled Telling Everybody Everything, Ryan has always been open about undergoing Botox and filler treatments. And in the Last One Laughing context, the ability to be funny and keep your face motionless cannot be underestimated. Harry Hill Expect the joyful and daft (Picture: Getty) This list is flooded with some of the UK’s most popular comedians, and Harry Hill is among them. Katherine Parkinson We’ll go from the back half of Rivals season two into Last One Laughing season three (Picture: Jeff Spicer/BAFTA/Getty Images for BAFTA) And she’s a Bafta winner! Katherine Parkinson is on quite the run. She had that win for her show-stealing Rivals romance with Danny Dyer’s Freddie and now her Last One Laughing debut. She’s been on Taskmaster, she’s been on Travel Man, it’s only right she puts her IT Crowd comedy chops to work in this too. Michelle de Swarte The former model also starred in the Netflix series The Duchess (Picture: BBC/Various Artists Limited/Robert Viglasky) Another entrant best known for the acting game, Michelle de Swarte created, wrote and starred in the BBC series Spent, about a riches-to-rags model. But the south Londoner is also a stand-up, who received rave reviews for her tour earlier this year. Jon Richardson (Picture: Channel 4) Jon Richardson, another comedy heavyweight, with more panel show appearances than us mere mortals can keep track of. Morgana Robinson A comedian, impressionist, writer and actress (Picture: Dave Benett/Getty Images for La Mer) Like many on this list, Morgana Robinson is a jack of all trades. But she really excels at impersonations. In her BBC comedy sketch show The Agency, she played the entire celebrity roster of a talent agency. All the characters. Josh Jones (Picture: Karwai Tang/WireImage) Richard Ayoade Could he go all the way with a second go at it? (Picture: Amazon Prime) He’s back! After finishing as a runner-up in the first season, Richard Ayoade will go again to see if he can come out on top. With a dry wit and unflinching facial features that precede him, Ayoade will be a tough act to beat. Particularly since there’s no Bob Mortimer to get him to crack this time around. Roisin Conaty Jimmy Carr has a new sidekick for season three (Picture: Wiktor Szymanowicz/Anadolu via Getty Images) For the third series, Roisin Conaty swaps out the control room to enter as a contestant.
