Amanda Seyfried is cementing her status as an East Coaster. The Oscar-nominated actor, who primarily lives at a farm in upstate New York, has listed her 2,700-square-foot Los Angeles residence for about $3.2 million. Seyfried bought the traditional-style dwelling from her Jennifer’s Body co-star, Adam Brody, in 2011 for $1.85 million. Before that, it was owned by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.Completed in 1916, the two-story Hollywood Hills home is tucked behind gates and tall hedges. It features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a formal living room with a fireplace, a white-and-blue kitchen, a sunroom, an balcony, and a spacious porch overlooking the backyard. The yard hosts a pool and spa with pergola-shaded loungers, a detached garage-turned-gym, and landscaped gardens. The Testament of Ann Lee star’s favored vintage countryside-inspired look is apparent: A breakfast nook is swathed in floral wallpaper reminiscent of a Laura Ashley print, dark hardwoods line the floors, and light fixtures with an antique vibe feature throughout. “I grew up in a stone house,” Seyfried told AD during a tour of her Manhattan pied-à-terre. “I just love history, and I love the smell of old wood. History has a smell to it. You know what I mean?”Exterior view of the home. The Mamma Mia! star “fell in love with the main house’s rustic stonework and the trellis between the house and stand-alone garage,” she told the Wall Street Journal last year. The bucolic property, which she shares with her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, and their two children, inspired the farmhouse look of her New York City base. “We wanted to bring in some of the feeling of what we’d done at her place upstate, because she goes back and forth between the two,” designer Sarah Zames told AD.The home’s porch and backyard.
