Amanda Seyfried Joins Tiffany & Co. as House Ambassador, Stars in Derek Cianfrance Short Film

‘Tis the season of Amanda Seyfried. The actress has been named a new house ambassador for Tiffany & Co., and she debuts in the role courtesy of a holiday campaign titled “Love is a Gift” that comes along with a new short film, You & Me, directed by filmmaker Derek Cianfrance, whose list of credits include Roofman, The Light Between Oceans, The Place Beyond the Pines and Blue Valentine. The short is set between present day New York and a holiday memory from the 1990s, as “it explores how a gift from Tiffany & Co. can become an heirloom that carries memories, traditions and connections from one generation to the next,” per the house. In an Upper East Side townhouse, a woman decorates a Christmas tree only to discover a Tiffany Blue Box marked with a date of December 1992. The box transports her to an old December day in New York that has stayed with her, a moment that recalls her mother, in Tiffany HardWear, handing her a Blue Box with a hand-painted Bird on a Rock ornament. The custom ornament was created only for the film in collaboration with production designer Karen Murphy and draws inspiration from the house’s well known Bird on a Rock, originally designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1965. As for the film, it was produced alongside creative agency American Haiku and production company Radical Media with cinematography by Arseni Khachaturan. It is soundtracked to a rendition of the Wannadies’ “You & Me Song” from 1984. “I’m thrilled to join the Tiffany & Co. family as their newest house ambassador and to be part of a campaign that celebrates love, family and the traditions we carry with us through generations. You & Me captures beautifully how a meaningful gift can hold memories and become part of a family’s story. It was incredibly special to bring that idea to life with Tiffany this holiday season,” said Seyfried, who most recently wore Tiffany & Co. to the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.
