AlmaLinux Rolls Out New Software/Hardware Certification Portal, Self-Certify App

Two years ago RHEL-derived AlmaLinux announced a hardware certification program as part of their Certification Special Interest Group (SIG). They have now expanded their hardware certification program to include third-party software certification on AlmaLinux too plus a new app that users can install for self-certifying their system. AlmaLinux has rolled out their new, rewritten app that can be installed via sudo dnf install alma-certify for running their certification tests on your system. The certification program aims to finish in under ten minutes. On the opposite side, for those wanting to know about hardware/software known to work with AlmaLinux, they have rolled out the new certification portal at catalog.almalinux.org. This catalog reports hardware that's been reported as validated to work plus a few synthetic benchmarks. There is also distinguishing of AlmaLinux-validated hardware versus community and vendor validated hardware.
