Adam Thomas vowed to overhaul his appearance after his I’m A Celebrity stint this year left him riddled with health and body confidence woes he said ‘broke his heart’.And just months later, the winner of the ITV series, 37, has revealed his impressive six pack - and weight loss - as he poses for the cover of September’s Men’s Fitness.Thomas dropped 19lbs and reduced his overall body fat from 19.2 per cent to just 12.2 per cent to achieve his chiselled look.Boasting his washboard abs, the actor told the magazine: ‘I always thought I was fit and active until I started this transformation.‘Looking back, I realised I'd been doing things wrong for years. I did plenty of cardio and running, but I wasn't really training effectively.’Standing confidently in the gym, flexing his muscles while holding weights, the images are a far cry from what was screened of Thomas during his I’m A Celeb stint where he was, at times, consigned to his hammock in the South African jungle. Adam has revealed his impressive six pack - and weight loss - as he poses for the cover of September’s Men’s Fitness He dropped 19lbs and reduced his overall body fat from 19.2 per cent to just 12.2 per cent to achieve his chiselled lookDuring the spin-off to the main ITV series, which was filmed in 2025 and aired earlier this year, viewers became concerned for the family man as his mood slumped while he clashed with fellow contestant, boxer David Haye.He was accused of ‘bullying’ Thomas, with the star later admitting the sportsman ‘broke me and pushed me to my limits’.The father-of-two’s transformation comes against the backdrop of his debilitating autoimmune psoriatic arthritis diagnosis, which he received in 2023 before taking part in Strictly Come Dancing and tackled in the jungle. The condition, which has no cure, causes the immune system to attack its own body, primarily the joints and skin, but also organs, resulting in stiffness, swelling and inflammation. The Manchester native has previously said it has left him so weak he is unable to open a jam jar or even leave bed.It does not couple well when lifting weights and endurance training, though his trainer Steve Chambers taught Thomas how to ‘effectively’ lift weights without hurting himself. The Waterloo Road star explained: ‘My wrists are probably the biggest issue, especially when lifting heavier weights. Every gym session still comes with some discomfort, so I've had to learn different techniques and adapt exercises to protect my joints while still training hard.’He had set himself the goal of transforming his body and health in February and achieved it in 14 weeks by maintaining a high protein consumption, coupled with a low-carb intake and a ‘modest’ calorie deficit.Balancing his transformation alongside the pressures of family life and work has been the biggest struggle for Thomas, but the goal of his Men’s Fitness cover kept him motivated.Thomas has said his transformation is not just physical, it has made him a ‘happier person’ and a ‘better husband and better dad’: ‘My family gets the best version of me now, and that's probably the biggest reward of all’.He now admits he needs another goal - and is eyeing up HYROX, a popular global endurance competition, popular with stars such as Gaby Allen, Tommy Fury, Liam Reardon and Suzanne Shaw. That can be exhausting within itself. There were days my body just didn’t want to keep going, but I did.'I won’t sit here and say I handled everything perfectly, because I didn’t. I wish I spoke up for myself sooner. I wish I stood my ground instead of trying to keep the peace, but I’ve learned that being kind doesn’t mean being weak, and sometimes it takes going through tough moments to find your voice.'
