Actor Pranita Subhash on why celebrities were cautious about Gen Z protests

Actor Pranita Subhash shared her take on whether celebrities do enough to back Gen Z during an exclusive conversation with Akshita Nandagopal at the India Today Karnataka Roundtable. She was joined on the panel by actor Samyukta Hornad, Naser Al Azzeh, a content creator, musical artist and dancer, and Vineeth ‘Beep’ Kumar, a comedian, content creator and beatboxer. Responding to the question, Pranita Subhash said, "Of course, I think a lot of celebrities were being careful because it was an anti-sitting government movement. It was a protest at the end of the day. The protest, I would leave it aside, because it had its own sides. A lot of people were using that for their political interest. I see that happening. It doesn't just remain a protest with good intent." She added, "As celebrities, we have always stood for good causes – not just for Gen Z but for anything that India wanted." The Gen Z-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests erupted across India over alleged examination irregularities.
