A HUGE rock frontman has had a hip replacement after suffering from an injury and has vowed to return to the stage immediately without cancelling a single show. Maynard James Keenan, 62, who is lead for bands Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, took to his Instagram to share an update with fans. Sharing a snap of himself sitting in a chair next to his hospital bed, Maynard told his 510k followers: “Don’t be Lazy. Read the whole Post. July 3rd, woke up Luxembourg on tour with @aperfectcircle. “When I went to do my morning workout and hike, my left hip said No. “Out of nowhere it just decided to not work. “Had to finish the rest of the tour in pain with a cane. Followed by the frantic phone calls and emails to get to the bottom of it. “Labrum Tear? Hip replacement? Sprain? I needed answers fast because I have s#!t to do. Many tours. “Starting in Sep and all the way to Xmas, I’ll be performing roughly 27 shows in 18 different countries with 3 different bands. Cancelling isn’t an option. Most read in Showbiz “People have purchased tickets and booked travel and lodging, most of which is probably nonrefundable. “Hats off to the medical team in LA. “When taking recovery into consideration, my cut off for a hip replacement would be Sept 1st. “These wizards all aligned their wands & got me in on Aug 26th (Today. A third added: “Oh s**t! Glad you’re on the mend brother.” A fourth chimed in: “Heal soon.” Puscifer are heading to Europe for their Normal Isn’t tour, which will see them perform in Sweden, Norway, Poland, Germany Switzerland and the Netherlands in October. They will also be in London, Manchester and Glasgow at the start of November. The band consists of Maynard, Carina Round and Mat Mitchell. Meanwhile A Perfect Circle is touring a number of venues in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii at the end of starting at the end of November. Maynard will be joined by Billy Howerdel, Josh Freese, James Iha and Matt McJunkins. And Tool, made up of Maynard, Adam Jones, Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor, will be performing at the Louder than Life Festival and another event in the US in the next few months. Comment now
