As many as 38,470 people used the Coimbatore Corporation’s Knowledge Centre on Addis Street between January and August this year.Established at ₹2.50 crore on a 6,983 sq. ft site, the centre has 18,000 books, a children’s library, newspapers and periodicals, a competitive examination study room, two discussion rooms, and 15 computers. It can accommodate 100 people at a time.The centre also conducts TNPSC coaching and skill-development programmes for unemployed youth and job seekers. Nineteen candidates who prepared at the centre have secured government jobs, while one beneficiary cleared JAM-2025 conducted by IIT-Delhi, the Corporation said.About 145 youth benefited from skill-development programmes conducted between May and August 2026.
