Zero FIR against woman over objectionable remarks on PM at Jantar Mantar protest

(Photo: Social media)A Zero FIR has been registered against a woman for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest over the alleged NEET paper leak at Delhi's Jantar Mantar last week. The FIR was registered on July 29 at the Expressway Police Station in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, against the accused, identified as Ruchika Singh. The complaint relates to an incident that allegedly took place on July 23 during the protest in the national capital.According to the complaint, Singh allegedly used abusive language and made derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister during the demonstration. The complainant alleged that the statements undermined the dignity of the constitutional office of the Prime Minister and were intended to incite ill-will and disturb public peace. The FIR further states that the alleged remarks could promote social discord and lead to a breach of peace.Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 352, 353(1) and 356(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).As the alleged offence occurred within the jurisdiction of Delhi Police, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police registered a Zero FIR and subsequently transferred it to Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi for further investigation.
