Zelensky Dismisses Prosecutor General Kravchenko After Rada Vote

Opposition lawmakers called for restoring a competitive selection process for the post, criticizing what they described as “politics-driven appointments.” Kravchenko submitted his resignation on Sept. 7 amid a NABU-SAPO investigation into the alleged protection of scam call centers. The dispute intensified after Kravchenko said he had signed a notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and accused the anti-corruption agencies of improperly seizing materials during searches linked to Operation Carthage. Kravchenko also faced scrutiny over a five-day official trip to Paris for PACE hearings on Ukrainian children. Ukrainska Pravda reported that his name did not appear on the event’s list of speakers.
