Sign in to your ScreenRant account The Legend of Zelda is having a very big year in 2026, with the franchise celebrating 40 years since it took its first pixelated steps on to our screens. Though I wasn't personally around for that, I have been for much of what came since, and it really has been a pretty remarkable run that's well worth celebrating as a community. The major news has obviously been confirmation of the Ocarina of Time remake, which is set to launch later this year (though we still haven't had a full reveal). The movie is also well underway, and there should be a Nintendo Direct along at some point that better explains what we can expect from all that. While we wait, there are plenty of other exciting things coming down the pipeline, including a new physical release for those of you who are still playing the last mainline game in the single-player series. Over on the official Nintendo website, you should be able to find the product listing for the Mineru's Construct amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It's a pretty cool little figure, and if you scan it into your game, you'll be rewarded with the glow-in-the-dark Sage of Spirit paraglider fabric. Not only that, but it looks like it also drops a bunch of helpful materials and items, including Zonaite, arrows, and various food. It's also useful in other games, including Breath of the Wild, where it grants access to other random, useful materials, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, where, again, you can get additional rewards to help upgrade your character and equipment. Even more left field than that is Animal Crossing: New Horizons where, following the game's Version 3.0 update, you can scan the amiibo at the NookStop terminal. This allows you to invite Mineru to live on your island as a custom villager, and grants access to exclusive Zelda furniture items. It should also provide other more generic rewards in amiibo compatible games, though Nintendo is yet to specify exactly what those will be. Other than that, all we can really do is sit patiently and wait for Nintendo to finally break cover on everything they have going on for Zelda as a franchise. Given how soon some of it is expected to release, that has to happen before too long, so expect to be more in the loop before the Christmas period rolls around.
