There are quite a few improvements to the 1998 masterpiece’s remake, including some redesigns in Zelda: Ocarina of Time that feel extremely promising. While the game will largely build upon the original, there will be some new additions. Ahead of the game’s release in November, a new overview trailer for the game was published on the official Nintendo of America channel on YouTube, featuring nearly five minutes of gameplay and information. In that trailer, Nintendo revealed a brand-new area called Hall of Fallen Foes, a zone that was not available in the original 1998 game. Instead, this will be a new area with a new gameplay mechanic, exclusive to Ocarina of Time Remake. The Hall of Fallen Foes will be a new area within the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake map. In it, you will be able to interact with statues of enemies you have vanquished, checking information about them. Most importantly, however, you’ll be able to partake in rematch battles against these enemies. This means that if you enjoyed a boss fight and want to check it out again, you can. Alternatively, if you feel you didn’t have the right experience with a certain boss, you can try taking them on again and possibly change your perception. Considering how great the bosses in Zelda: Ocarina of Time are, it’s fantastic that the remake will have a tool to let you face them as many times as you want, even if you have defeated them in the campaign. A cool thing about the Hall of Fallen Foes is that you’ll also be able to check what items are useful against each particular enemy, and the location will keep track of how fast you defeated them each time you try a rematch. Apart from showcasing this brand-new area and the features that accompany it, the trailer also highlights some of the previous details that had already been revealed. This includes the story overview, how Link’s journey will span over time, and the characters from Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. It also subtly shows some of Link’s alternative costumes in the game. The new video also highlights the use of the titular ocarina instrument, which is key to Link’s adventure. Luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer. The release of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled for November 5, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. We recently got to go hands-on with the remake ourselves, and came away seriously impressed with the graphical and quality of life changes that make this revived classic sing in a whole new way. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time really is back, and we can't wait to see what other surprises the remake has in store for us.
