Zelda Fans Pumped For New Nintendo Hardware Announcement

The Legend of Zelda is in a precarious position right now, where there are equal chances that Nintendo will satisfy or disappoint fans of the beloved fantasy franchise. Indeed, Nintendo celebrates The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary this year, and, if stars align, it seems like 2026 will end with some wonderfully festive treats for fans. For example, as previously reported, there may be a Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller being released for the 40th anniversary in the near future. It’s unknown whether this Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller will be released alongside the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which is still apparently being released this year, but a new development this rumor has to bear suggests it has an appropriately designed theme. On Reddit, fans have been closely following the rumor of this Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, as proposed by a leaker known by the username Necrolipe. The rumor on its own didn’t necessarily hold a ton of water with most fans who are skeptical about how reliable this leaker’s information is, yet it seems like it’s being corroborated by Nintendeal, a user who has reinforced Necrolipe’s latest claim of what The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary logo will look like on the hypothetical Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Necrolipe has provided their personal mock-up of what the logo looks like and attempted to give fans an idea of the design, which has gotten fans much more excited (in part due to how soon we could get an official announcement). Nintendeal may be this leaker’s saving grace, however, as user All-Your-Base writes, “I don’t really trust Necrolipe, but Nintendeal seems legit because he seems to have connections with some kind of retailer.” Therefore, with Nintendeal stating that Necrolipe’s recreation of the logo is “accurate,” this rumor suddenly has a bit more meat on its bones. Even so, not everyone is convinced, and the leaker’s mock-up isn’t necessarily doing the controller a ton of favors, either, with user gaggytron amusingly saying: “My wallet is safe.” Rather, user Normal-Gurl-48 says that they’ve been holding off on buying a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, with this 40th anniversary Legend of Zelda-themed one being the one they’ll finally go in for. As a token of such a fantastic milestone in the historic franchise that is The Legend of Zelda, it’d be expected to sell like fluffy, syrupy hotcakes. It’ll be interesting to see if this controller leak truly is legitimate. Then, hopefully, it won’t be much longer before we finally hear when the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake will launch.
