Yung Filly acquitted of raping Perth fan, could face retrial as footage released by the court

A British YouTuber has been acquitted of the rape of a young fan in a Perth hotel in 2024.Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was found guilty of two counts of assaulting her, but not of strangling her and not of raping her.The jury could not come to a decision on three of the 10 charges he was facing. Whether he faces a retrial on those charges will be decided at a later date.The verdict comes after three days of deliberation by the jury as the District Court judge released footage of the moment before a British YouTube star entered a Perth hotel room with the woman after a performance in 2024.Barrientos was accused of biting, slapping, choking and raping the 20-year-old woman who attended a performance he gave at Hillarys club Bar1.He denied the allegations and claimed the sex was consensual.British YouTube star Yung Filly - real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos - arrives at Perth District Court last week.9News PerthOn Friday he was found not guilty of anally raping the woman and strangling her, but was found guilty on two charges of assault occasioning bodily harm.He will be sentenced on those two charges on August 21.The jury told the judge on Friday they were unable to reach a verdict on three counts which relate to rape. Barrientos may face a retrial on those three charges. He will be told the outcome of that decision when he is sentenced.On Friday, judge Linda Black released to the media some of the exhibits that were used during the trial, including CCTV taken from the Intercontinental Hotel on Hay Street where the incident is alleged to have taken place.The footage shows Barrientos, 30, walking into the lobby of the hotel in the early hours of the morning on September 28 two years ago. He is followed by members of his entourage, as well as the alleged victim who has been heavily blurred from the vision to protect her identity.She testified during the trial last week that she thought she was heading to an “after party” with Barrientos, but then willingly engaged in consensual sex with the performer.She then claims the sex turned violent with Barrientos slapping her repeatedly on the face and urging her to call herself “a fat pig” and “Filly’s dirty whore”. She then told the court she started to cry and said “no” but claims Barrientos then hit her harder before raping her.Barrientos gave his own evidence earlier this week that the sex was consensual and the woman seemed to be enjoying herself.He will remain in Australia until his sentencing in three weeks’ time.From our partners
