YSRCP seeks independent probe into alleged Mega DSC irregularities

Rao The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has demanded an independent probe into alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC teacher recruitment, citing complaints relating to sports quota selections, TET and subject eligibility, EWS reservations, examination procedures and certificate verification.Addressing a press conference on Monday, he alleged that candidates who had not qualified the TET or possessed the required subject qualifications had secured appointments. He also questioned how sports certificates allegedly disowned by the issuing associations had cleared verification. He raised questions over an outsourcing employee allegedly gaining access to examination systems, securing a top rank and the subsequent alteration of the selection list.Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that audio and video material relating to question paper leaks and alleged money transactions for jobs had surfaced and questioned why comprehensive action had not been taken despite the availability of such material. He said complaints had also been received from Kadapa and Kurnool districts.He questioned the government’s “seven-step verification” process, asking how such alleged discrepancies could have escaped scrutiny if the procedure had been properly followed.Referring to Monday’s incident in Vijayawada, he alleged that the YSRCP’s proposed peaceful protest was denied permission under Section 30, while another group was allowed to put up tents and use microphones and DJ equipment. He alleged that party leaders and elected representatives were subjected to a lathi-charge when they went to submit a representation.Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy demanded a CBI or other independent investigation, saying the issue concerned the future of around 3.5 lakh job aspirants. He said candidates selected legitimately on merit should not be affected, while those found to have secured jobs through false certificates or other irregularities should face action.He also demanded the resignation of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, saying the Minister’s resignation should precede the inquiry.
