Now, NBCUniversal is pulling off its biggest crossover yet—Peacock Premium is coming to YouTube Premium in the U.S. That means, starting early 2027, millions of YouTube Premium subscribers will get Peacock folded straight into the bundle at no extra cost. YouTube becomes Peacock’s biggest distribution partner The deal is about convenience as much as content Credit: NBCUniversal Peacock has already been used as a bundled option through services like Apple TV, Instacart+, and Walmart+. The new YouTube deal pushes Peacock into one of the largest subscription ecosystems on the internet. The pattern seems obvious as NBCUniversal is banking on bundled services alongside its standalone subscription for Peacock’s road to growth. For consumers, the benefit is clearly convenience. As subscription fatigue increases, instead of managing a separate streaming service and payment, Peacock becomes a part of YouTube Premium that millions of users already use every day. This means watching live sports, Peacock Originals, and Universal movies—including the NFL, Olympics, NBA, Love Island USA, Law & Order: SVU, and The Office—in one place without app-hopping. For NBCUniversal, YouTube offers scale. For YouTube, Peacock adds another premium entertainment layer. Both services keep users inside a single subscription ecosystem for longer. It's worth noting that Peacock Premium Plus will remain available as an add-on subscription through YouTube Primetime channels. The latest deal could also give Google more flexibility to justify a potential YouTube Premium price hike down the line as the Peacock Premium bundle makes it more valuable. The popular video-sharing platform raised its Premium membership prices earlier in April, with individual plans costing $16 and the family tier setting you back $27. The YouTube Premium bundle won’t replace Peacock’s standalone plans. The Select and Premium tiers cost $7.99 and $10.99 per month, whereas the Premium Plus membership is priced at $16.99. The Premium plan offers ad-supported access to 80,000 hours of movies, TV shows, and live events. Getting standalone YouTube Premium and Peacock Premium will cost you a total of $26.99. Only time will tell if the new bundle leads to a price hike for a YouTube Premium subscription in the future. Source: NBCUniversal
