You aren't alone — Xbox's servers are down, and players can't access physical or digital games

Sign in to your XDA account According to reports across social media, Reddit, and Xbox's official Status Page, Microsoft's Xbox Live service is down right now. This includes online services, but also digital and even physical games, given actual Xbox discs require online authentication in some cases. This is probably the best argument we've had in the last few years regarding why games shouldn't be always-online, but here we are yet again. In a post on Twitter, @XboxSupport posted that it's aware of the issue and that its engineers are "actively working to mitigate the issue." This outage comes just ahead of Halo: Campaign Evolved's release The issues were first reported late last night Xbox's Status Page says that Account & Profile, Store & Subscriptions, Games & Gaming, and Apps & Mobile are currently down. This is the second time in a week that Xbox's servers have been disrupted. Last Thursday, nearly every Microsoft service went down, including Outlook and Teams. The company later blamed the issue on a maintenance bug. This latest outage was initially reported late last night, and it appears to have spread rapidly. This outage comes amid Sony recently revealing its plan to cease all physical game production in January 2028 in order to shift to a digital-only release strategy. Halo: Campaign Evolved, one of Microsoft's more significant releases of the next few months, is set to release on July 28th, so the timing of this latest outage isn't ideal for the company. The remake of the iconic OG Xbox first-person shooter has been available in early access for the past few days.
