'Yellowstone's Best Sequel Officially Replaces Beth Dutton After the Shocking Season 1 Finale

Despite their differences, one Jackson has a story that closely mirrors Beth's life path, and the events of Season 1's shocking finale officially set up Oreana Jackson (Natalie Alyn Lind) as the franchise's replacement for Beth. 'Dutton Ranch' Confirms That Beth and Oreana Have a Lot in Common Before Beth became a fearful financier, she endured a traumatic experience as a teenager, which flashbacks in the original Yellowstone reveal. After becoming pregnant with Rip's child, she sought Jamie's (Wes Bentley) help to get an abortion. He took her to a clinic on the Broken Rock Reservation so news of her pregnancy wouldn't spread, but unbeknownst to Beth, Jamie consented to a complete hysterectomy without her consent. Beth's infertility isn't only the reason for her hatred of Jamie, but she hides that pain behind walls she's built over the years, only letting them down because of Rip, who helps her heal after learning what really happened. It's hard not to consider the similarities that are already playing out on Dutton Ranch after the Season 1 finale reveals that Oreana is pregnant, leaving her devastated. The show has yet to reveal whether the father is Carter or not, but what is certain is that Oreana initially plans to run away with him, only for everything to change once her father, Rob-Will (Jai Courtney), is shot in the family home. As the public face of the 10 Petal Ranch, Oreana's pregnancy could become a major scandal, paralleling not only Beth's experience as a young woman but also her grandmother Beulah's. Although Beth never had the fondest memories of the Yellowstone Ranch, she still serves as its strategist. Her commitment to Yellowstone — and, more importantly, to her father — is also driven by the guilt she carries over her mother's death in a horse-riding accident, which she channels into loyalty, even if it means devoting herself to a ranch she has never truly loved. Like Beth, Oreana has a complicated relationship with her family's legacy. She blames her grandmother's ambition for tearing the Jackson family apart, a rift that only worsens when Beulah sends her father, Rob-Will, to rehab. Oreana's future is cemented, though, after she discovers Rob-Will dead, leaving her to inherit the same cycle of grief that shaped Beth throughout Yellowstone.
