Ahead of the release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, actor Yash addressed the earlier box-office clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Toxic was earlier scheduled for March 19, 2026, before being moved to June 4 over uncertainty in the Middle East, and was later pushed again with a new release date yet to be announced.Speaking on India TV's Aap Ki Adalat, Yash mentioned that the decision to avoid the clash was not driven by fear of losing Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore at the box office. He said the move was about self-respect, not ego, and added that his main concern was whether he was delivering the film he had promised to audiences. The actor clarified that delaying the project was a matter of "self-respect" rather than ego, explaining that sticking to the original release just to protect his "image" or "prove something" would have been true ego.Yash highlighted that his primary fear was failing to deliver on what he "promised people", adding that if the product isn't right from his side, he simply moves "forward."Referring to the release-date row, Yash highlighted that he had never deliberately entered into a clash with another film.He said, "Jo bhi clashes aap bol rahe hain, woh clash mein main seedha jaake kabhi nahi kiya. Mera date announce hua hota hai, uske baad koi agar aayega, toh woh clash hota hai (Whatever clashes you are talking about, I have never directly gone into a clash. My date would have been announced first, and if someone comes after that, then it becomes a clash)."The actor highlighted that the March 19 date had put him in an unusual situation because of the uncertainty around the release.“I was in confusion when my movie was supposed to release on March 19 (I was confused when my movie was supposed to release on March 19),” the 40-year-old went on.Yash also said losing money at the box office was not what worried him. "Zindagi mein mujhe khone ka kuch hai hi nahin, toh mujhe darr hai hi nahin (I have nothing in life that I am afraid of losing, so I have no fear)," he added. He dismissed financial losses, and said that losing "Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore" cannot affect him because he started with "nothing in my pockets," meaning whatever he has now is "a plus."Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups depicts a toxic father-son relationship between Yash and his son.
