XWayland 26.1 RC2 Released For Testing With More Fixes

Following last month's initial release candidate of XWayland 26.1 with its many new features, a second release candidate is now available with a number of fixes. XWayland 26.1 is gearing up to be a big release with the first tagged significant update since XWayland 24.1 debuted back in 2024. XWayland 26.1 provides a better rootful implementation, multi-seat compatibility with X Input 2, support for new Wayland protocols, better Resize and Rotate "RandR" emulation, and many other improvements. It also drops EGLStream support. With today's XWayland 26.1 RC2 release there are multiple XKB fixes, damage tracking improvements, byte-swapping changes for X Input, and other fixes from the three developers that contributed patches for this release candidate. Separately, X.Org Server 26.1 is working its way toward release as an even larger update since the days of the xorg-server 21.1 stable series debut.
