Spotted in the latest Xbox Insider build, the long-requested feature introduces new filters specifically for achievement hunters. This was brought to the community’s attention by Twitch Partner Stallion83, who shared a screenshot to X of the new game completion filters. Their post shows options for ‘Completed Mythic Achievement’ and ‘Incomplete Mythic Achievement’, with further fine-tuning for game visibility. Newly-appointed CEO Asha Sharma teased this feature back in August when replying to a player who specifically asked when Microsoft would “solve” the Platinum Trophy void on Xbox: “Team is working on something for later this year!” Just a month later, Xbox is keeping its promise. Why Achievement Hunters Have Been Waiting For This It’s no wonder people have been begging on social media for Platinum Trophies; on Xbox, hitting 1,000 Gamerscore used to mean you finished a game. But as soon as a developer releases an expansion or a random title update with 200 extra Gamerscore, your "100% completed" badge disappears overnight. PlayStation solved this problem by siloing DLC trophies into separate sub-lists with their own completion percentages. Unlocking the Platinum locks in your 100%, which achievement hunters on Xbox have wanted for years. Then there’s the issue of gratification. Getting a Platinum Trophy is an event, whereas 100%ing a game on Xbox earns you another lump of Gamerscore, with practically no fanfare to mark the occasion. Unlocking every achievement simply swallows games into your overall Gamerscore. Judging by the achievement updates that have already been rolled out this year, Mythic will likely have a distinct badge and clear visual reward that makes achievement hunting less static, finally addressing those gripes. Of course, this could equally be a placeholder, or Microsoft may choose to change the name from ‘Mythic’ before announcing it to the public with an official update. Whatever happens, right now, ‘Mythic’ is the new Platinum equivalent.
