Xbox Is Getting Its Own Version Of PlayStation's Platinum Trophy

Not only did Game Pass get a price decrease, but there have been grand promises to return to exclusivity, and new CEO Asha Sharma has been telling those on social media everything they want to hear. Xbox still isn't done, though, as it recently announced that a whole new wave of improvements is coming to Xbox consoles, which will include voice chat in game captures, more cloud-saving functionalities, an expanded game wishlist, and new ways to view your achievements. It's a lot of promising changes, though Sharma couldn't help but tease something else that fans have wanted for years. Xbox Might Be Getting Its Answer To Platinum Trophies If you're a bit of a completionist, you'll be well aware of PlayStation's platinum trophies, which are given out to players once all of a game's other trophies have been earned. They're viewed as status symbols to some, as the amount of platinum trophies you have is indicative of how good of a game you are. It's nonsense to me, but that's what they're there for. However, Xbox is rocking an achievements-based system that rewards you with points that go towards your Gamerscore. The higher your Gamescore, the better the gamer you are. One of the main problems is that this doesn't really incentivize you to finish off a game completely. Why grind out the last achievement that will give you 5 Gamerscore when you could just move onto another game? As a result, Xbox fans have been calling for their own version of a platinum trophy for quite some time, and when asked by a fan once again if anything like that is in the works, Sharma revealed that something is actually being worked on for "later this year." No details were shared, so we'll have to wait for something concrete, but it does sound like Xbox will be getting its own platinum trophies in the near future.
