Xbox Cloud Gaming’s added playtime costs start at around 40¢ per hour

Microsoft is sharing more details on added playtime costs for Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming which starts at around 40¢ per hour. In September, Microsoft confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming through Game Pass would start enacting limits on how much time players could spend in cloud gaming per month. The lowest tier limits players to just 5 hours per month before added costs would be incurred. Now, Microsoft is testing out the new costs with “Insiders” ahead of a broader rollout next month, with “introductory pricing” confirmed as follows: 10hrs for $3.99 25hrs for $7.99 50hrs for $11.99 For the lowest purchase amount, that comes out to just about 40¢ per hour, dropping to about 24¢ for the 50-hour purchase. This is for ad-free streaming, with Microsoft pointing out that it will also allow players to stream games for free with ads, though they also put up with longer wait times and lower-quality streaming.
