Sign in to your ScreenRant account Storm is officially a villain in Marvel's X-Men reboot, and her new design immediately conveys her lethal new powers. Ororo Munroe has always been one of the most overwhelmingly powerful mutants in the entire Marvel Universe. Frequently classified as an Omega-Level mutant, Storm's control over the weather extends to a planetary and even cosmic scale. Her power is so massive that it's intrinsically tied to the biosphere of the Earth itself, which allows her to sense global weather patterns and even the electrical impulses of living beings. Storm's immense baseline destructive capabilities have earned her the status of a living goddess. But throughout her life, Storm has also received several extraordinary power-ups that have taken her already god-like abilities to even more terrifying levels. At one point, Ororo Munroe wielded Stormcaster, a mystical Asgardian hammer forged by Loki, which granted her the cosmic might comparable to that of Thor. More recently, Storm became a proper Thunder God, capable of overshadowing deities as powerful as Zeus and Eternity themselves. As Marvel approaches a major Storm reinvention with the arrival of Maya Boyd's MCU Ororo Munroe in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, a new version of the weather-manipulating hero makes her debut as a twisted supervillain. Storm Is A Vampire Queen In Midnight X-Men Midnight X-Men #1; Written By Jonathan Hickman; Art By Matteo Della Fonte & Arthur Hesli Marvel's first glimpses at Midnight X-Men teased a villainous vampiric Storm who attacked fellow X-Men like Jean Grey. With Midnight X-Men #1 officially out, Marvel confirms this version of Storm's role in her universe. According to Midnight X-Men #1, the vampire population is now divided between human vampires and mutant vampires: vampires and empyres, who overshadow the threat of mutantkind in the eyes of the Earth's regular human population. Storm, now a vampire queen, maintains close contact with Bishop Kurt Wagner during a period of supposed peace between these factions. A great divide is starting to appear, however. Regular mutants like Cyclops and Hope Summers make a stand against empyres like Gambit, and Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants is preparing to intervene. Vampire Queen Storm maintains her promise of peace to Bishop Nightcrawler, but she makes it very clear that if push comes to shove, she and her army of undead mutants will wage war against whoever stands in their way.
