Sign in to your TheGamer account We’ve seen plenty of knockoff soulslikes over the past few years, with only a handful that have managed to stand out and impress. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is one such title, an interesting soulslike with a good combat system that drew attention for both good and bad reasons. Unfortunately, the game didn’t perform quite to what was expected, thanks to horrid performance problems on PC and controversial changes to make certain boss characters unkillable. It eventually led to the dissolution of Chinese developer Leenzee Games, and the Wuchang IP was left floundering without an owner. However, it was eventually purchased by Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, and hope for an actual sequel was back. And now, almost three months after the acquisition announcement, Digital Bros has announced that a sequel to Wuchang is now in development. Wuchang: Fallen Feather Sequel Officially Announced In a press release sent to TheGamer, 505 Games has revealed that the sequel is being worked on by series creator Xia Siyuan, who has established a new studio called Indolphinity. This studio will oversee development of the game, while 505 Games will fund and publish the title. Unfortunately, there has been no mention of exactly how far into development this Wuchang sequel, nor any indication of when we can expect it to drop. That being said, with all the uncertainty around the IP and the founding of a new studio, you have to assume it’s at least three or four years away. Still, at least we know that Wuchang isn’t completely dead and buried, and that Digital Bros is actually doing something with the IP rather than buying it to keep it locked in a safe somewhere like so many other big publishers do. Released July 24, 2025 ESRB Mature 17+ / Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence, In-Game Purchases Developer(s) Leenzee Publisher(s) 505 Games Engine Unreal Engine 5 Genre(s) Action RPG, Soulslike, Hack and Slash
