Worms found crawling in khichuri served to children at West Bengal anganwadi

White worms were found crawling in khichuri prepared for children at an anganwadi centre in the Kuthibari area of Dinhata in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Two local children reportedly fell ill after eating the meal.The incident came to light on Wednesday morning and led to anger among villagers in the area. SIMILAR INCIDENTS IN BIHARIn a separate incident in Bihar's Nalanda district, at least 40 students fell ill after detergent powder was reportedly served instead of salt with their mid-day meal at Parasi Middle School. The students complained of stomach pain and vomiting and were taken to Hospital. Bihar Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar visited the hospital and assured strict action against those responsible.In another case in Arwal district, worms were reportedly found in a soybean dish supplied by an NGO to 75 schools in the Sadar block. Headmasters stopped the food from being served and informed the Education Department.
