Worldwide Sales Heat Up for Creature Feature ‘Pacific’ (EXCLUSIVE) 'Pacific' Credit: Hector Alvarez Touted as the most ambitious sci-fi pic ever made in Spanish, Gonzalo Gutiérrez’s “Pacific” (“Pacifico”) will make its European bow at the prominent Sitges Fantasy Film Festival in October and is selling fast to buyers worldwide. “We are proud of the response among top-tier theatrical buyers who are watching and immediately reacting to the film’s amazing story and its top VFX studio quality,” said its sales agent-producer Guido Rud of FilmSharks. “‘Pacific’ is about so much more than alien space ships and monsters.” Pic follows a motley group of young travelers who are stranded on a Pacific island where they come upon an evil presence long hidden from mankind for centuries. Popular on Variety Thus far, it has sold to Taiwan’s Av-Jet; MVP Pictures for India and Poland’s Media4fun. Nashe Kino will release it across cinemas in Russia and CIS and Splendid Films across German-speaking territories in the second quarter of 2027. Reportedly made for $10 million, the creature feature will be theatrically released in Mexico by Cinemex early next year. It stars some of the most bankable Latin/U.S. Hispanic stars, including María Gabriela de Faría (“Superman”), Manolo Cardona (“Narcos”), Christopher Von Uckermann (“Rebelde”) and Claudio Cataño (“One Hundred Years of Solitude”).
