THE 2030 World Cup final destination has seemingly been leaked, despite an announcement not yet having been made. Speaking at an event held by the Authenticity and Modernity Party in Bouznika, Lekjaa said: “What you should know is that the province of Benslimane will have the honour of hosting the 2030 World Cup final. Morocco are co-hosting the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay also hosting a game each at the start of the tournament to mark the 100-year anniversary since the first World Cup in Uruguay. And the race for the final is shaping up to be a battle between some of the most spectacular stadiums in world football. The Hassan II stadium is at the centre of Morocco’s bid, with its design inspired by traditional Moroccan tents used during celebrations. But Spain has two heavyweight contenders of its own in Real Madrid‘s Bernabeu and Barcelona‘s Camp Nou. The Bernabeu underwent a huge redevelopment between 2019 and 2024, transforming the iconic ground into a futuristic multi-purpose venue. It now boasts a retractable roof, while its natural grass pitch can be split into sections and stored underground in a climate-controlled facility. The stadium has also been wrapped in a futuristic steel facade and fitted with a giant 360-degree video screen around the upper tier. Barcelona’s Camp Nou is also undergoing a mammoth redevelopment costing around £1.3billion, with the club aiming to eventually increase its capacity to around 105,000. Comment now
