World of Hyatt Card Limited Time Bonus Offer: Earn Four Free Night Awards

We’ve just seen a new limited time welcome offer rolled out on the World of Hyatt Credit Card, making it the ideal time to apply. I’d consider this to be one of the most lucrative hotel credit cards out there — it’s a product you don’t get just for the bonus, but instead, for the long term value that it offers. Let’s take a look at the details of the card bonus and eligibility requirements, as well as the long term value. World of Hyatt Category 4 properties retail for up to 25,000 points per night, so the absolute maximum value of this offer is 100,000 points. However, I of course wouldn’t value it that highly. That’s because these free night awards expire 12 months after they’re issued, and you also can’t top off these awards to redeem at more expensive properties. So actually maxing out the value of these isn’t easy. One thing I should mention is that while I don’t love the lack of flexibility of this welcome offer, it’s significantly better than the standard bonus, which tends to be lackluster. Obviously Chase and Hyatt know that this is a card people will get for the long term value, rather than just for the bonus. For what it’s worth, based on my latest miles & points valuations, I consider World of Hyatt points to be worth 1.4 cents each. Redeem free night awards at the Hyatt Regency JFK World of Hyatt Card eligibility requirements If you’re interested in applying for the World of Hyatt Credit Card, the eligibility rules for the bonus are pretty straightforward. This product is available to you if you don’t have this exact card, and haven’t received a new cardmember bonus on this card in the past 24 months. So that means you could potentially earn the bonus if you’ve had the card in the past. Furthermore, eligibility is unrelated to whether you have the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (learn more). On top of that, Chase’s general application rules apply, including that you can typically be approved for at most two Chase cards every 30 days, and the Chase 5/24 rule is also worth considering (you may not be approved if you’ve opened five or more new card accounts in the past 24 months). There’s not a consistent credit score you need to be approved for this card, though I’d hope to have a score in the “good” to “excellent” range, ideally 700+ points. However, people with lower scores have been approved, and people with higher scores have been rejected. The World of Hyatt Card has a $95 annual fee, and offers the following perks, among other things: World of Hyatt Discoverist status for as long as you’re a cardmember Five elite nights toward status annually, with no spending requirement Two elite nights for every $5,000 spent, helping you earn Globalist status A Category 1-4 free night award on your account anniversary every year A second Category 1-4 free night award when you spend $15,000 annually 4x points on Hyatt spending, 2x on dining, airlines, fitness, and transit This is a card I’ve had for years, and one that I spend at least $15,000 on annually, so that I earn the second free night award, plus six additional elite nights. If you stay at Hyatts with any frequency, having this card should be a no-brainer. For more details, read my full World of Hyatt Card review. Earn elite nights with the World of Hyatt Card Looking for a Hyatt Business Card instead? If you’re looking for a Hyatt co-branded credit card but want a business card instead, then the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is for you. The card is currently offering a bonus of 70,000 points after spending $7,000 within the first three months. At my valuation of 1.4 cents per point, that’s roughly $980 in value, which more than offsets the $199 annual fee in year one. Eligibility is straightforward, as you can’t currently hold this specific card, and you can’t have received a welcome bonus on it within the past 24 months. Having the personal World of Hyatt Credit Card doesn’t affect your eligibility, as you can hold both cards and earn bonuses on each. Standard Chase application rules apply. For more details, read my World of Hyatt Business Card review, as well as my World of Hyatt personal vs. business card comparison. This can potentially be worth up to 100,000 points. How much is the World of Hyatt Card bonus worth? The World of Hyatt Card four free nights welcome offer can potentially be worth up to 100,000 points, as a Category 4 Hyatt property in peak season goes for 25,000 points per night. That being said, I wouldn’t value the offer quite that high, since it takes effort to maximize. What are the World of Hyatt Card bonus eligibility rules? You’re eligible for the welcome bonus on the World of Hyatt Card if you don’t currently have the card, and haven’t received a new cardmember bonus on the card in the past 24 months. What credit score do you need to get approved for the World of Hyatt Card? There’s no published credit score you need to get approved for the World of Hyatt Card. Ideally, I’d hope to have a score of at least 700 points, but people with lower scores have been approved, and people with higher scores have been denied. Bottom line The World of Hyatt Credit Card is currently offering a limited time welcome offer that can earn you four Category 1-4 free night awards upon completing minimum spending. Category 4 properties go for up to 25,000 points per night, so this is potentially quite a substantial welcome bonus. However, the bonus isn’t the main reason you get this card. Instead, it’s about the long term value proposition, including elite nights toward status, an anniversary free night award, etc. Furthermore, it’s a card that’s worth spending $15,000 on per year, if you can swing it, so you can earn a second free night award and six more elite nights toward status. If this card has been on your radar, this is a good time to apply…
