Their husbands have alleged that the women were in a relationship with each other and may have married each other before disappearing. The allegations came to light after the families checked the women's call records and WhatsApp conversations while searching for them. The chats allegedly contained intimate exchanges in which the two women addressed each other as “my cute wife”, “my love” and “babu”.However, police have not confirmed the husbands' claim that the two women married each other. They said the circumstances will become clear only after the women are traced, and their statements are recorded.TWO WOMEN DISAPPEAR WITH THEIR CHILDRENAccording to the complaints, Manju, 25, a resident of Ballabhgarh, married Sunny of Palwal in 2020. Her childhood friend Reena also married in the same year. Reena's husband, Vedpal, is a resident of Gurugram's Pataudi area. On August 21, Manju allegedly left her home with her four-year-old son and two-year-old daughter. She was also carrying jewellery worth around Rs 4 lakh, according to her family. When relatives contacted Reena's family while searching for Manju, they reportedly discovered that Reena was also missing. She had allegedly left with her four-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year-old son, along with jewellery and cash worth around Rs 5 lakh. With both women missing along with their children and valuables, their families began looking into their phone records and WhatsApp conversations.'MY CUTE WIFE', 'MY LOVE': CHATS RAISE SUSPICIONThe families allegedly found conversations in which the two women used terms such as “my cute wife”, “my love” and “babu” while communicating with each other for long periods. The husbands said the women had studied together until Class 12 and their frequent conversations had initially been considered normal between childhood friends. However, the nature of the messages has now led them to suspect that the two had been in a romantic relationship for around one-and-a-half years. The husbands have further alleged that the women may have married each other before leaving their homes. They have, however, said they have no objection if the two women choose to stay together, but want their four children to be brought back safely.POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING WOMENCases have been registered in Gurugram in connection with the women's disappearance. Police said teams are using mobile phone locations and other technical evidence to trace the two women and their children.Officials have stressed that the claim that the women married each other has not been officially confirmed. Their statements, as well as the circumstances surrounding their disappearance and the whereabouts and safety of the four children, will be established once they are traced.- EndsPublished By: Priyanka KumariPublished On: Sep 8, 2026 23:50 IST
