Woman protesting son’s suspicious death dies after consuming poison

A woman from Prakasam district, who had been protesting in front of a private coaching institute following her son’s suspicion death, reportedly died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday.According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Moulana Bi, the mother of Kowshik, who was studying in Class VI at Chaitanya School in Ongole. Kowshik reportedly ended his life on February 14, 2026, after scoring low marks in the Jawahar Navodya School entrance exam.Blaming the school management for her son's death, Moulana Bi had been observing a relay hunger strike in front of the school for the past few days. She was demanding a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to her son’s death, and on Thursday, she reportedly consumed poison after taking a selfie video seeking justice for her son.A woman constable on patrol duty found her and immediately admitted her to RIMS Hospital. She was later transferred by her family members to Sanghamitra Hospital for advanced treatment. She was again shifted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, where she died while receiving treatment.“Soon after the death of Kowshik, a case was registered at Singarayakonda police station. The postmortem report revealed that he died due to hanging. However, his parents raised several suspicions against the school management and even the investigating officials,” Ongole DSP R. Srinivasa Rao told The Hindu."The case is pending at the Andhra Pradesh High Court. As per the directions of the court, the mobile phones of a few police officers were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
