Emergency services were scrambled to an address in Hardwick, Gloucestershire, shortly before 4am, after receiving reports of a fire. Fire crews, ambulance and police responded to the scene and the inferno was brought under control. The property was searched and a woman in her 90s was found unconscious inside. A woman aged in her 60s and from Gloucester has since been arrested in connection with the incident. She was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. She remains in police custody for questioning at this time. A cordon remains in place around the scene as investigators probe the tragedy.
