Woman found dead after altercation outside house in UK city as man, 66, arrested on suspicion of murder

NewsUK News A WOMAN has been found dead outside a home, as firearms cops arrest a 66-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Gun cops were called to the scene of an altercation outside a house in Newport, Wales, in the early hours of Saturday. A woman who has not been identified was sadly pronounced dead a short while away from the property. Paramedics battled to save her life but she tragically could not be saved. He is currently in police custody after being taken in on suspicion of murder. Chief Superintendent John Davies said: “We understand that reports of this nature are deeply unsettling and distressing for our communities. “A man, who was arrested at the scene, is currently in police custody, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death. “There will be an increased police presence in the area, while our officers continue to carry out enquiries. “If you have any concerns or have any information, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.” Most read in The Sun Gwent Police is appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and assist their investigation.
