Woman and man killed after car ploughs into stationary digger – as two men arrested

A MAN and a woman have tragically died and two men have been arrested after a car ploughed into a parked digger. Emergency services were scrambled to the A57 Hyde Road in Gorton, Greater Manchester, after receiving reports of the smash. Four people were inside the car at the time of the deadly collision with a man and a woman tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Two men were rushed to hospital with serious injuries before being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! They both remain in police custody at this time. Police are probing the fatal smash with no further details on the victims released at this stage.
