Woman allegedly stabs daughter to death in Punjab

District Police Officer Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi took notice of the incident and directed police to arrest the suspect OKARA: A 10-year-old girl died after allegedly being stabbed by her mother following a domestic dispute in village 40-GD Rai Pur on the outskirts of Okara, police said. According to police, the incident occurred after an argument between the girl's parents. In a separate account, police said the mother, Bushra Bibi, allegedly attacked her daughter, Aswa, with a knife after the child refused to carry out a task. The girl sustained critical injuries and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds despite medical treatment. Goegera police reached the hospital after receiving information, took the body into custody and shifted it to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. District Police Officer Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi took notice of the incident and directed police to arrest the suspect. Goegera police subsequently arrested Bushra Bibi.
