A 51-year-old woman has passed away after undergoing six-in-one cosmetic surgery on her face and neck. Andreia Vieira Gaspar, a businesswoman originally from Brazil who was living in Madrid, Spain, went under the knife earlier this month, receiving a facelift and neck liposuction, among other things, per local outlet g1.She also had 'excess skin' and 'fat deposits' removed from her eyelids and neck during the extensive, eight-hour procedure.Her sister Djiane Vieira told TV Anhanguera that after the surgery, which took place in Goiânia, Brazil, she noticed that Gaspar's tongue had become so swollen that she couldn't close her mouth.Her condition continued to worsen, and doctors ultimately discovered she had a bacterial infection, g1 reported.Gaspar passed away on August 12 following attempts to resuscitate her.Vieira claimed that the hospital didn't have an ICU or ambulance available to take Gaspar to one that did. Following the tragedy, g1 reported that the hospital told TV Anhanguera that Gaspar 'received immediate emergency care' and that the 'pre-operative evaluation and examinations were performed externally.'
