WNBA Stars Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd Confirm Breakup

WNBA’s Brittney Griner Files for Divorce From Cherelle Griner After Nearly 8 Years of MarriagePaige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd pulled a pass fake on WNBA fans. The Dallas Wings teammates—who confirmed their relationship in July 2025—shared they are no longer together, and haven’t been for over a year. Welcoming Bueckers to the Nov. 6 episode of her Fudd Around and Find Out podcast, Fudd confirmed the news as the former couple laughed it off, quipping, “I don’t know how else to say that.” Bueckers also confirmed that the duo—who first sparked romance rumors during their time playing basketball together at University of Connecticut—had been broken up for “over a year.” In fact, it was well before they knew they would be stepping onto the court together. “To share that now everybody’s gonna be like, ‘Oh my gosh they’re teammates. How is this going to work?’” Bueckers explained. “We were not together before she got drafted so all those narratives can go to bed. She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it.”The 25-year-old emphasized that she and Fudd—who was drafted in April—remain friends. “She’s an amazing human, an amazing basketball player,” she continued. “We’re still friends, we’re still cool. We broke up over a year ago, so we played an entire season together. We’re the utmost professional. We care about basketball.” Bueckers also acknowledged that she wanted to give a “speech” regarding the fan’s obsession with their romance since it was confirmed. If you’re using our names and our image to spread that, that’s not who we are and that’s not what we’re about.” Nodding to the negative messages Bueckers and Fudd’s family, friends and teammates received during their relationship, Bueckers acknowledged, “That’s never been something that we’ve stood for.” Ultimately, both Bueckers and Fudd, 23, made it clear they only support each other—and only want support for each other from their fans. “We’re still going to be great teammates,” Bueckers continued. “We’re going to be professionals. We are still going to have other friends. We will eventually move on.” She also didn’t want any hate for their potential future partners joking, “I know we will continue to be outside and be lit and have a good time so we should not get punished for that as well.” Fudd, for her part, concurred with everything Bueckers laid out, and confirmed they won’t be speaking any further on their relationship. “We know you guys are probably curious and have a ton of questions,” she acknowledged, “but we’ve addressed everything that we need to and the rest will stay with us.” For a deeper look into the love lives of WNBA stars, keep reading… ESPN/TikTokAngel Reese"I think the next time I'll post I'm in a relationship is when I'm married," WNBA standout Angel Reese shared during a January 2025 episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, explaining a newfound desire for privacy.
