In October 2026, OAG data shows that the ultra-low-cost carrier's various units collectively have 1,162 daily movements on average. Activity has risen by a substantial 20% compared to the same month last year. Ch-aviation shows that Wizz Air Holdings has 270 aircraft, averaging 4.6 years of age. The fleet consists of 200 Airbus A321neos, 33 A321ceos, 21 A320ceos, ten A321XLRs, and six A320neos. So many A321neos explains why the airline's average seats per flight is a high 228, reducing seat-mile costs but making it harder to consistently fill them. 41 airframes (15%) remain grounded due to engine problems. Wizz Air Has Stopped Flying To These Airports Credit: Tom Jenner | Shutterstock Analysis of the ULCC's served airports from 2025 through October 2026 shows that the following places have been removed. No flights are scheduled from November 2026 through next summer. Some may say it is unfair to include the now-defunct Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, but places previously served are featured for completeness. This analysis follows the recent examination of destinations no longer served by Ryanair and easyJet. The list includes Brussels Airport (BRU), which is, of course, Belgium's primary airport. Wizz Air flew there in 2020 and again between 2024 and 2025. Only Budapest was served. The reason for the lack of service was simple: Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) and, specifically, its much lower fees/charges. Better known as Charleroi, CRL is a reasonably important airport in Wizz Air's network, with 17 routes available through 2027. The stated year is when the carrier first flew there **** Through the entire period Vienna Was A Base For Wizz Air Credit: Simlinger | Shutterstock The ultra-low-cost carrier first served Vienna International Airport (VIE) in April 2018, and its base opened later that year. The Austrian capital was a hotbed of competition, primarily as Wizz Air and Ryanair (through its Lauda unit) fought it out. The pair had a considerable 9.8 million two-way seats at VIE in 2024, when they accounted for 28% of the airport's short-haul capacity. Wizz Air had up to 3.5 million two-way seats at VIE, which was achieved in the COVID-19-hit 2020. Capacity rose from just 538,000 seats two years earlier. VIE was the Group's fourth most-served airport in 2020, but its position fell annually. In 2025, VIE was 18th. Based on having at least four departures, Wizz Air served a total of 88 destinations from VIE between 2018 and 2026. When total seats are considered, London Gatwick Airport (LGW) was the top market. More interestingly, ten destinations in the Middle East were served: Abu Dhabi, Amman, Dammam, Dubai, Eilat, Jeddah, Kuwait, Ovda, Riyadh, and Tel Aviv. Three cities in Ukraine also saw the airline: Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia. Flights To Medina Did Not Last Long Credit: Airbus Medina is best known for being a very holy city in Islam and, therefore, being a critical destination for pilgrimage traffic for Umrah and, at times, Hajj. Wizz Air initially flew to the Saudi Arabian city from Abu Dhabi using its now-closed United Arab Emirates unit. Flights from Europe materialized in 2025, when the carrier operated from LGW. Between August 2025 and April 2026, Wizz Air UK flew daily between LGW and Medina using the A321XLR. With a block time of up to six hours and 40 minutes, it was the Group's third-longest service at that time. The route was underpinned by significant incentives from the Saudi Air Connectivity Program, without which it would not have been considered. It was the only scheduled operation from the UK to Medina.
