Why Travis Kelce Isn’t at the VMAs With Taylor Swift (and What He’s Doing Instead)

Taylor Swift showed up at the VMAs tonight to make casual history and debut her video for “Patient Zero,” but the singer didn’t take the opportunity to make her official red carpet debut with Travis Kelce. He and the Kansas City Chiefs were playing a game against the Miami Dolphins over in...you guessed it...Miami (the Chiefs won, for what it’s worth).The game was pretty early but not quite early enough for Travis to make it all the way to Los Angeles in time for the red carpet. However, it is possible that he could show up to support Taylor later in the evening. Either way, he’s been busy scrolling Instagram for photos of his wife walking the red carpet and making his feelings known with some very public Likes.Taylor is winning the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, which “celebrates a sustained and influential body of work from artists who have pushed creative boundaries and developed a clear directorial voice.” It’ll make her the most-awarded artist in the show’s history with 31 wins, so it’s possibly Travis is flying into Los Angeles tonight to support her (although he also might need to stay with the team...tbd).
