Why Taylor Swift Is Missing Emmys 2026When it comes to the Emmys 2026, Taylor Swift actually won’t be right there, front row. Although The Eras Tour: The Final Show was up for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) at the annual TV award ceremony, the Grammy winner will not be present at Peacock Theatre Sept. 14, as her category will not be televised. In fact, Swift’s category was already announced at the Creative Arts Emmys Sept. 5, with The Muppet Show ultimately taking home the trophy over her concert special and fellow nominees Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable…, Nikki Glaser: Good Girl and Wicked: One Wonderful Night. (See every Emmys 2026 winner so far here.) Beyond the timing of her category, the dominoes have cascaded perfectly in a line for her to support her husband Travis Kelce. Indeed, her wondrous time will be freed up in case she decides to attend the Kansas City Chiefs’ season kickoff against the Denver Broncos in Kansas City, which will occur in tandem with the annual award ceremony. For Swift, the Eras Tour will always be one of her biggest accomplishments, but she’s previously admitted that she can’t help but prioritize her focus toward Kelce’s games during NFL season. “I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field,” Swift shared while addressing speculation of a future potential Super Bowl performance on The Tonight Show in October. “Like, that is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords.
