His side sit 12th in the English top flight, and they were pegged back late on last time out by Tottenham, who stole a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford over the weekend. Dominic Solanke netted a stoppge-time equaliser in the second half to salvage a share of the spoils for Roberto De Zerbi’s 10-man Spurs, who had had Rodrigo Bentancur given his marching orders for a headbutt on United left-back Luke Shaw. Struggles: Bruno FernandesPABryan Mbeumo had given Carrick’s hosts the lead on 73 minutes with an arrowed finish into the corner, but they were denied all three points by a spirited Spurs fightback.
