Why Geordie Shore’s most bitter feud is still bubbling away almost ten years on – as insiders reveal fresh wounds

IT was one of the most bitter reality TV show feuds of all time – with Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby trading blows in interviews and shady swipes on social media for years. A decade has passed and both girls appear to have moved on from their beef. But insiders tell The Sun that, while the pair no longer talk about each other publicly, behind closed doors there is still no love lost – and Charlotte will never move on from a ‘snub’ that happened two years ago. The fallout was initially sparked when Vicky accused Charlotte of copying her fitness DVD when she left Geordie Shore. But after years of not speaking, in 2024 Charlotte became emotional and apologised to Vicky after being quizzed on their spat at an event. Taking a deep breath, mum-of-two Charlotte said: “If I ever saw Vicky, I’d probably apologise because we fell out. “She kind of turned her back on us, she did slag the show off and everything about it and we weren’t happy with her doing that. “But looking at where I’m at now, I actually look back at that and think, actually she’s just grown up. “And now I’ve started a family I totally get where she was at, but I couldn’t understand then. So I feel like I get her. I get her now because I’m in the same place as she was back then now.” Despite her mea culpa, pals of Charlotte say she never heard back from Vicky. “It took a lot for Charlotte to say that so publicly and be the bigger woman, and she expected Vicky might reach out afterwards, but she never heard a peep,” says our source. “She felt totally ghosted, because she knew Vicky would have heard about what she said and she naively thought it might build bridges between them. “She wasn’t expecting to ever be best mates again, but she thought Vicky would want to heal what happened between them, especially as she always talks about having therapy and working on herself. “But when nothing ever came, it upset Charlotte all over again and it still stings to this day. She’ll never be able to forgive it.” While the pair no longer follow each other on social media, sources say Charlotte occasionally sees Vicky’s content when someone else sends her a screenshot. And we’re told Charlotte finds it particularly irksome when Vicky talks about lifting up other women on her socials. For example, a recent video she shared carried the caption: “Real queens fix each others crowns.” “Charlotte thinks it’s totally disingenuous. Vicky constantly talks about lifting other women up, but that’s not how Charlotte or most of the other Geordie Shore girls felt like she treated them. The pair, seen here in 2013, were close on Geordie Shore Credit: Insight News and Features The show documented Vicky’s wild partying but the TV star later claimed being on the show was ‘toxic’ for her Credit: Planet Photos “If anything, she disowned where she came from and didn’t celebrate most of the other girls’ achievements after she left. “Charlotte and her pals think the stuff Vicky says feels like empty social media sentiments for likes, rather than something she’s practised in reality. “Normally stuff Vicky posts passes Charlotte by as she’s really busy with her own career and family, but every now and again she’ll see something that winds her up.” It’s also no secret Charlotte has been having a tough time recently after having to close down her clothing line, which she spent years building and poured hundreds of thousands of pounds into over the years. “The loss of the business really hit her hard, and it’s stirred up some resentments and grievances towards Vicky that she thought she’d worked past.” She can’t escape the fact that Vicky’s been everywhere this summer, from her gig on Heart Radio to her podcast with presenter Angela Scanlon, not to mention being plastered all over buses and billboards as the face of skincare Nivea. Our source explains: “It’s hard for Charlotte to see Vicky land these lucrative jobs and ambassador deals when they both started out on the same show, being messy and drunk and sleeping around. “Yet Vicky has managed to reinvent herself as this clean-cut girl next door, while Charlotte has never been fully able to shake off that wild child tag – even though she’s the one who’s settled down with two kids. Charlotte has had two kids with fiance Jake Ankers Credit: PA Vicky is married to Ercan Ramadan Credit: Alamy “Charlotte always celebrates the success of the other girls from Geordie Shore, and remains close to the majority of them. “But there’s something about seeing Vicky’s face grinning on campaign posters or when she catches her on TV that gets under her skin because she still feels like, in many ways, Vicky abandoned her old friends and tries to disown the show that gave her a launching pad. It’s like she still looks down on it.” Another sticking point came when Vicky signed up for Strictly Come Dancing last year, a show Charlotte has made no secret she’s always wanted to do. She has called the mirrorball show her “absolute dream”, but back in 2017 admitted there was a huge stumbling block to getting on it, saying: “I’d love to do Strictly Come Dancing but there’s no way they’d have someone from Geordie Shore on the BBC.” Vicky has reinvented herself, even landing a spot on Strictly Come Dancing last year Credit: Please credit: Radio Times / Immediate Media Company London Ltd In 2017 Charlotte said: ‘I’d love to do Strictly Come Dancing but there’s no way they’d have someone from Geordie Shore on the BBC’ Credit: Instagram/thecharlottecrosby So when Vicky booked the show last autumn, Charlotte couldn’t help but feel like she’d stolen her dream. “Charlotte always thought that show was totally off limits and would never happen, so when Vicky got it, it made her feel like she just wasn’t good enough. “Obviously it’s not Vicky’s fault that she was approached and cast, but for Charlotte it reinforced that notion that Vicky has been able to reinvent herself from her mad MTV days and Charlotte hasn’t. “She feels like she always tried to stay true to her roots and be proud of where she’s come from, yet Vicky has acted ashamed of her TV beginnings and been rewarded for it by being rebranded in the public space. She feels like bosses took a chance on Vicky, and not on her, and it niggles her a lot.” The first clear fracture in Vicky and Charlotte’s relationship came shortly after Vicky left the show in late 2014. She accused Charlotte of ‘copying’ her when she released a fitness DVD and weight loss plan, with Charlotte hitting back at Vicky’s comments, claiming she was “really disappointed” and didn’t know why Vicky “seems to be so angry”. Charlotte referred to Vicky as a “colleague” rather than a friend, and claimed if she saw her in the street, she would “smile and walk past”. She also said “nobody cares” about Vicky after she failed to turn up to a Geordie Shore cast reunion in 2021. Many of the other Geordie girls feel like she cast them aside when they no longer suited her brand. “Most of them don’t follow her, and vice versa, but they get sent stuff she posts sometimes from friends and it often annoys them,” says our source. A pal of Vicky’s, however, is quick to defend her. “Vicky is a girls’ girl, but she’s also allowed to have moved on from a job she did in her early 20s. “How many people are still mates with people they worked with over 15 years ago? It’s not that common, and it’s not because she thinks she’s above anyone, she’s just in a different place. “Vicky has been really open about how she wasn’t her best self on Geordie Shore, and it triggers her a lot to revisit that period of her life. “It’s no shade to anyone on that show, but in many ways she had to cut ties for her own mental health. It’s not personal. Yes, some mud has been thrown over the years but that’s ancient history as far as she is concerned. “She wishes all the girls and their families well.” The Sun has approached reps for Vicky and Charlotte for comment.
