Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, in an exclusive interview, revealed why she kept her wedding with filmmaker Sharan Sharma private. In an exclusive conversation with India Today, she said the decision was deliberate and reflected their shared preference for privacy.The 32-year-old said she and Sharan wanted an intimate celebration rather than a public spectacle. She said the wedding was meant to feel calm, peaceful and personal, and that they stayed away from a flashy or opulent event.Speaking about why the couple chose an intimate celebration, Akansha said, "A hundred per cent. Two hundred per cent. Sharan and I are both very simple people. We're not flashy or opulent. We both hate attention and too much drama."She added, "I just didn't want my personal life to be dissected on the internet. I wanted the wedding to remain private. I don't believe in weddings where everything is streamed on phones, and every little detail is out there." For Akansha, the celebration was about preserving the intimacy of the occasion. "I just wanted a feeling of calm, peace and privacy. The most important thing was for it to feel personal, and that's exactly what we were aiming for," she shared.When asked whether marriage has brought about any changes in her life, the actor laughed it off, pointing out that it is still too soon to tell. "Of course not. It's only been a few days! I'm still getting used to saying, 'I'm married.' Apart from that, nothing has really changed," she said. Akansha also spoke about another exciting milestone awaiting her family—becoming an aunt. Expressing her excitement, she said, "I'm extremely excited. I just cannot wait. When it comes to children, I'm always very excited, so I'm really looking forward to this new role."On the professional front, Akansha was recently seen in the Netflix film Ikka, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, which also features actors Akshaye Khanna, Sunny Deol, Dia Mirza and Tillotama Shome.
