Yashoda Lodhi, popularly known online as English With Dehati Madam, recently found herself in the spotlight after Priyanka Chopra shared one of her videos on Instagram. For Yashoda, the unexpected shoutout was more than a celebrity sharing her content; it was a moment that reflected how far she has come from her early days of learning English herself.In a new video on Instagram, Yashoda spoke about the global icon sharing her video and how the gesture made the day particularly special for her. “Friends, little did I know that Priyanka Chopra Jonas ma'am would share my video on her story,” she said.Yashoda recalled that she had visited a farm the previous day and planned to shoot a video there. While she was trying to record, her husband called her, after which she eventually completed and posted the video. She was later surprised to see that Priyanka had shared it on her Instagram Story.“And then something truly unexpected happened. Priyanka Chopra Jonas ma'am shared my video on her story. And she has made my day really special for me,” Yashoda said. The moment also coincided with another milestone for the content creator — she crossed 4 lakh followers on Instagram that day. “Yes, friends. So, for many people, it might just be a story. But for me, it really means a lot,” she said.Yashoda said Priyanka’s gesture reminded her that even small efforts can reach people and places she may never have imagined. “It reminded me that you never know where your small efforts can take you,” she said, adding, “From a village girl working in her fields to seeing my small piece of content reach someone I admire so much. The moment is truly special.”Who is Yashoda Lodhi? Yashoda belongs to Lodhan Ka Purwa village in the Sirathu Nagar panchayat of Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh. When she was around a year old, her bua and fufa (aunt and uncle) took her to Ludhiana, Punjab, as they did not have a child. She grew up there and completed her formal education up to Class 12.Yashoda has spoken about her journey of learning English herself. In an interview with F5 Storytellers, she recalled that she had never really spoken English and initially did not know where to begin. She started by listening to other people's videos and imitating what she heard.After around 15 days of listening practice, Yashoda started her own channel and began speaking in her own style. Her videos gradually found an audience, and she said her channel was monetised within a month, with her first payment arriving the following month.She launched her YouTube channel on December 26, 2023. Her content focuses on spoken English, everyday conversations and commonly used phrases, making the language accessible through practical, real-life situations rather than a purely academic approach.Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka will next be seen in Varanasi. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles. She will be seen playing the role of Mandakini.
