Rookie receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have impressed in camp. This will be a heavy proving ground to see just how much they have evolved in those sessions. Receiver Cedric Tillman is looking to find his fit in a suddenly highly competitive receiving room. Rookie tackle Spencer Fano won the starting job with a fearless grit in training camp. Seeing him measure up against Chicago’s defensive line, even if it’s just second-team, will be a highlight of the game. Dawand Jones, who Fano beat out for the starting role, will get some crucial reps to sharpen his stature. Center Luke Wypler is also in a camp battle. Running back Quinshon Judkins was a gem last year. He returns to the field for the first time since a season-ending leg injury in December against the Buffalo Bills. The Browns’ defense is hoping to quickly return to form after losing generational superstar Myles Garrett. While the sample will be small, names like newly acquired former Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger, Quincy Williams, Pro Bowler Denzel Ward, Ronnie Hickman and Mason Graham will be the most intriguing players to observe until they suit up for the real deal in September. Cleveland has racked up a plethora of interceptions in camp, a statistic they struggled with mightily in the Kevin Stefanski era. The Browns starting unit is expected to have a few series together before Monken starts swapping in the second team. That opens the door for quarterback Tyson Bagent. The backup for Williams rarely sees the field in the regular season as Bagent has attempted only six passes in the last two years. The reliable backup is known for his preseason swagger, as the Bears are 6-0-1 in Bagent’s last seven preseason games. He has thrown for 718 yards with eight total touchdowns. During last year’s preseason finale, Bagent helped turn a 27-10 fourth-quarter deficit into a 29-27 victory with three straight touchdown drives. The game will also unveil the 2026 version of quarterback Case Keenum. The grizzled veteran will see plenty of run with a likely third-team offense. Reserve quarterback Miller Moss will cap the final frame. Reserve running back Salvon Ahmed is fighting for the role of RB3 with Deandre Swift and Kyle Monangai. He has not appeared in a regular season game since 2023, including missing all of last season. The Bears are also eager to see second-year stud receiver Jahdae Walker. He showed a brief flash last season on Dec. 20 with a 6-yard touchdown with three seconds left. Rookie cornerback Malik Muhammad has taken advantage of roster injuries to land reps against the second-team defense. He has garnered nickel starts against the first team. Third-year offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie will be under the microscope with a spot start against the Browns. He has struggled at times during camp and will be tested thoroughly. After suffering a knee injury in the second preseason game last year that caused him to miss the first seven matchups, defensive lineman Austin Booker recorded 4.5 sacks in the final 10 games.Weather is expected to be a major factor, including a 40% chance of rain at kickoff and thunderstorms near halftime.
