Sign in to your TheGamer account Last week, Wizards of the Coast revealed that Magic: The Gathering’s next Marvel steps will be welcome and unexpected ones. While yes, we will be getting more Marvel via Universes Beyond to kick off 2027, Darkhold Destiny will be quite a bit different from anything MTG has done with Marvel before. The Premise Of Darkhold Destiny Previously, the driving force behind Marvel x MTG has been figuring out how to make MTG feel more like Marvel. Darkhold Destiny will seemingly do the exact opposite. Not only will the set be rooted in an entirely original storyline, but it will also include an all-new Marvel character that’s set to debut in the comics in early 2027. It’s a potentially fantastic way to help stem some of the predictability and fatigue that has been creeping into MTG’s continued UB push, and now everything from the Darkhold Destiny set is available to pre-order on Amazon. First and foremost, that includes the Commander Decks, giving us a better idea of which heroes and villains will be taking the lead for this upcoming expansion. Darkhold Destiny's Commander Decks Wizards of the Coast The Commander Decks are fronted by Blade, Thor, Dr. Strange, and Hela, with each character epitomising the theme of their corresponding deck. The decks cost $74.99 each, or you can buy a bundle that includes all four for $299.96. No discount, as that’s exactly what they’d cost if you bought them individually. There’s also a Collector’s Edition bundle for $639.96 where every single card has a surge foil treatment. Other characters have now been confirmed to be a part of the Darkhold Destiny arc thanks to various other items now up for pre-order. The Bundle ($69.99), for example, which bags you nine booster packs, features Ghost Rider. Scarlet Witch was also expected to be a part of the set due to how intrinsically linked to the Darkhold she is in the Marvel comics and movies. The character can be found on both the Draft Night collector booster ($119.99) and Arcanum Bundle ($99.99), which features a more traditional comic book art style on its packaging. The other three items in MTG’s Darkhold Destiny are the Booster Display ($209.70) which includes 30 booster packs, and the Assault on Asgard and Skirmish at the Sanctum Scene Boxes ($41.99), both of which include six cards whose artwork can be combined to create a complete scene. Everything in Darkhold Destiny can be pre-ordered through Amazon right now, but none of the items will be released until April 12, 2027.
