Where To Find The Thief With The Cane Who Stole Gremla's Banner In The Blood Of Dawnwalker

In her downtime, Kaitlyn enjoys unwinding with her favorite horror films, despite being a major scaredy-cat. After getting through Coen's horrifying nightmare in the opening of The Blood of Dawnwalker, you'll have some time to get to know his home village of Laslea before everyone has to report to the church for Blood Mass that night. During that time, one of the quests you'll stumble on involves a poor old woman named Gremla, who is the victim of a thief. For Mass tonight, Gremla is expected to present a new banner at Brencis' request. If she doesn't show up with the banner, she believes the cost will be her life, which is why she's asking for your help recovering it from the Vrakhiri-hating thief who stole it. How To Start The Blasphemy Quest To begin the Blasphemy quest, open your map and look for the quest indicator near the Shrine in the middle of the village. You'll see Gremla standing outside of her front door along the main road, with a few locals standing in front of her. Upon approach, you'll briefly watch her yell at them about the missing banner before she gives you the rundown of what happened. She'll permit you to search around her house if you choose to offer to help, which you need to do to complete the quest, and then you're ready to start. Use Focus Mode on Gremla's home to fade out the world to a shade of gray and highlight points of interest in yellow. Specifically, you'll need to interact with the Loom inside her home, the footprints to the left of her house, the hole marks near the footprints, and the torn piece of banner where the footprints end. After you do all of this, Coen will deduce that the thief must have been using a cane and have injured their hand. So, your next point of interest is to search Laslea for people with a cane. Keep in mind you don't have time to do everything in the prologue before Blood Mass, so if you want to complete this quest, see it through before spending time elsewhere. Additionally, ensure there aren't any other things you'd rather do with the time. The first person you'll likely stumble upon is actually just back up the road, towards Coen's home, on the same side of the road as Gremla's home. There will be a few guards near an arch reminding people about Mass and a woman sitting on a bench with a cane. Speak with the woman, Dana, who will tell you she's using a cane because she sprained her ankle in the woods. After you ask her about the banner, she'll attempt to dodge the question by saying she doesn't leave her house much, but if you ask her about the cane first, Coen will counter that she just mentioned she'd been out in the woods and sprained her ankle. You'll need to push the conversation again by reminding her of Gremla's impending doom, and Dana will finally admit that she believes Premsyl is the likely culprit. Where To Find Premsyl To find Premsyl, head a bit southeast from Dana and look for the field full of hay piles. Premsyl will be sitting on a bench outside a house in this area. You'll have several options to choose from with him depending on whether you spoke with Dana before finding him. All the dialogue options should ultimately lead to the same point: telling Premsyl directly that you know he stole the banner. This option will cost one of your time segments, but it's necessary to progress the quest. Premsyl won't deny that he stole it, but he will attempt to argue about returning it. You'll have the option to say you're going to tell Gremla or ask him why he took it; select the option to ask him why he stole the banner. In response, he'll take you over to where it's hidden and show it to you. At this point, tell him that there are better ways to confront the Vrakhiri. Premsyl will continue to argue, and you'll have a few more options to try to keep convincing him or to concede to him. If you want to return the banner, tell him to think about your family and keep pushing him to return the banner. Premsyl will, thankfully, begin to see reason and promise to return the banner to Gremla before the Blood Mass. With this resolved, have Coen inform Gremla that Premsyl was the thief and will return the banner to her. She'll thank you, and you'll receive 25 Denarii and 325 XP for completing the quest.
